BRASSERIE COGNAC – NYC

So, I’m going to New York City in a couple of weeks! Imagine that! This time I am sharing the trip with two of my longtime best friends! It will be a quick trip but I want to share the best of New York City with them and it occurred to me that I need show you some of my favorite sights and sounds of the city as well as share a small guide to restaurants that I absolutely love with all of you! This visit will be away from my usual NYC neighborhood, staying on the West side of Manhattan instead of Midtown East. However, one restaurant that we will be going to is on the East side close to Rockefeller Center, and other Midtown sites. So today, I decided to share information about this restaurant with you for your next trip to New York if you would like to experience some really exquisite food while you are there!

                                                            BRASSERIE COGNAC

                                           THE PERFECT FRENCH RESTAURANT

963 Lexington Avenue  (at East 70th Street)

922 7th Avenue (at 58th Street)

517 Lexington Avenue (at East 48th Street)

Established in 2008, Brasserie Cognac offers an authentic French dining experience in the middle of New York City! The menu balances classic French dishes and modern palates from their  Branzino to their airy Gougeres. Every location has a distinct personality to suit both casual meals and private events. Brasserie Cognac offers an extensive collection of over 100 varieties of cognac, paired with a carefully curated wine list that includes first-grown Bordeaux served by the glass. I have tried many of them!

All locations are in Manhattan and Brasserie Cognac brings a taste of France to three different parts of the city. The charming Upper East Side location features a cozy intimate setting while the Midtown East spot is perfectly situated for breakfast, lunches and relaxed dinners. The newest location, just steps from Central Park and Carnegie Hall, offers a sophisticated experience for those looking to enjoy authentic French cuisine in one of New York’s most iconic areas! The portions are generous and they don’t mind you sharing your dishes with your tablemates. The service is fast and friendly and there is an edible flower on each plate which has become the eatery’s trademark making your plate ‘social media-ready’!

A little history, the restaurant group Serafina has been a successful Italian restaurant group for years. Yet, owners Vittorio Assaf and Fabio Granato were urged to start a new project known as “Serafina’s French little sister”. They have succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. Brasserie Cognac offers a full French breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Both owners believe opening restaurants is not just about offering authentic cuisine but about creating affordable luxury!

The homemade pasta is wonderful, halfway between spaghetti and linguine with a garlicky wine-based truffle sauce. Topped with dozens of thick truffle shavings on top and of course the edible flower. Be warned, it will fill you up and it’s priced like a typical pasta dish which is almost unbelievable! Let me suggest Beef Bourguignon! End your experience with Profiteroles – three large cream puffs filled with homemade vanilla ice cream a little pitcher of homemade sauce made with French chocolate. The Crème Brulee and Tarte Tain are also delicious and in a league of their own! I also suggest trying one of their French wines or the Champagne Cocktail made with Stoli vodka, St. Germain Raspberries and Champagne. I have never been disappointed at any location, treat yourself and your companions, you won’t be

sorry. And of course, I think the name is perfect!  Bon Appetit –
